Ever wondered what happens when you leave the house in the morning with explicit instructions for your pet to behave? You can probably guess: Your pet pretty much does whatever he wants to do.
Evidence: a delightful dog video going viral at lightning pace right now. The 99-second clip captures a snippet from a day in the life of a dog whose owner has forbidden him to be on the bed.
When the owner leaves, a hidden camera captures the pup in a moment of totally unbridled joy, first approaching the bed with some demure hesitation (which probably comes from repeated reprimands)—before hopping right up and dancing wildly all over the forbidden bed in pure, unrestrained glee.
Nearby, a classically aloof cat seems to watch in disapproval, until the end of the video, when the amped-up dog playfully provokes a little tiff.
Apparently, there’s universal appeal in the sheer joy the dog demonstrates: the video had gotten well over 1 million views by Monday afternoon after being posted to LiveLeak Sunday. It immediately caught fire among Reddit users too, soaring to the fifth-ranked video on the site.
The whole silly scene is something to which any pet owner can relate. “Teaching the dog to stay off the bed is actually teaching the dog to stay off the bed when you are around,” one commenter remarked. Another astutely noted, “There always seems to be a warm patch on my sofa when I arrive home. But somehow the dog’s in his own bed!”
