Hoda's unusual technique for getting her dog to eat

May 8, 2013 at 11:01 AM ET

Sometimes, it's hard to live with a picky eater. Especially when that picky eater doesn't understand words, has an adorable little face, and eats puppy chow.

Hoda's been trying an unusual tactic to get her new dog Blake to eat his food. First, she mixes in a little chicken broth…and then she pretends to eat it.

"I go, nom nom nom nom nom," she said, making a little eating noise, and demonstrating exactly how she pretends to eat his food before giving it to him. Then, she admits, Blake looks at her like she's insane. It hasn't exactly been working like a charm.

KLG, who is something of a dog expert, said not to worry: "He'll eat when he's hungry."

Maybe he's just having a good time watching Hoda do live theater.
