Emmylou Harris, often called the "Queen of Country" for her memorable chart topping hits and multiple award winning signature songs, has been rocking the country world for almost 4 decades. Now this queen is truly a "king" of hearts because she has also been hitting all the right notes on behalf of animals in need!

Not only is she rescuing and adopting multiple animals of her own, but she turned her Nashville estate into a shelter for unwanted pets. It's called Bonaparte's Retreat named after the beloved dog she rescued just hours before he was to be euthanized. It was then that a bell went off in Emmylou's huge heart, and she decided to make it her mission to save animals facing the same fate.

On the day I visited this amazing woman at her home in Nashville, she was actually holding a local adoption day on her front lawn. Currently she has 29 dogs in her program, and 10 right in her backyard. If that's not enough to keep her busy, she also has another pet project in the works called "Crossroads Campus" which pairs people with animals in need, providing emotional and financial support for both.

Emmylou Harris is a true "superstar" for ALL the right reasons!
