Adorable Golden Retriever Fritz can't catch a break — or a steak, taco or doughnut

In the movie "Airplane!" one character revealed he had a "drinking problem" by going to take a sip of Gatorade ... and splashing it all over his shirt. Fritz the dog has a similar issue — only in his case, it's a "snack problem."

Fritz the dog is a sweet, bandanna-wearing, 3-year-old Golden Retriever who cannot catch a treat — no matter how big the treat is, no matter how carefully-aimed it is.

"Fritz Dog is a YouTube channel that celebrates both Fritz's unique inability to catch food and his positive, can-do attitude," the owners wrote on YouTube. "While we all intently anticipate the day when Fritz masters the skill of catching food in his mouth, we also patiently embrace the journey."

Kindly, those owners have put together a hilarious video compilation (complete with retro synthesizer music track) showing the highlights (or lowlights?) of Fritz's many adventures in getting hit in the face with food he just didn't see coming.

"The problem seems to be that they keep coming at him in slow motion," joked TODAY's Matt Lauer Tuesday.

But look at the title of this video: "Fritz Learns to Catch Compilation #1." Are they trying to tell us something? Could Fritz have overcome his "snack problem"?

You'll have to watch the video to find out!
