Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson saves pup from drowning, is doggone awesome

As if we didn't love the wrestler-turned-actor enough already!

A picture of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a wet T-shirt holding two puppies should be enough for its own story, right?

So if that's all you need, here you are. But be warned: It gets much cuter ... and more heroic!

See, as Johnson outlined in the caption to this Instagram picture he put up on Monday, there's a "fun Labor Day weekend story" to go with it.

The Johnson family grew by two fuzzy members over the holiday: French bulldogs named Brutus (in Johnson's right hand) and Hobbs (in his left). But the minute they got to their new home they did exactly what all of us would want to do: Jump in the family pool!

We'll let Johnson take it from here: "HOBBS immediately starts doggy paddling while BRUTUS (like a brick) sink[s] head first to the bottom of the pool. I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean BRUTUS and bring him back to the edge of the pool. He was a little delirious.. took a moment, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up to me as if to say, 'Thank God you didn't have to give me mouth to mouth!' and then ran off to play with his brother."

Labor Day disaster averted, though we're sure there are many fans out there who wouldn't mind a little mouth-to-mouth from The Rock.

Also, he noted, he learned a "few lessons" from the event: Not all dogs instinctively doggy-paddle, and before you dive in to save your dog's life, try to leave your cellphone on dry land.

"Don't keep it in your pocket... like I did," he wrote.

One dog saved, one cellphone drowned. We're OK with those stats, Dwayne, you hero!
