Surf's up dude!
Dozens of dogs hit the waves on Sunday in Huntington Beach, California as part of the annual Surf City Surf Dog competition, a three-day event that features fearless dogs catching some serious surf.
Dogs compete in divisions depending on their size while they are judged on a variety of skills, including the duration of their ride and their confidence on the board.
This was the competition’s sixth year taking the waves. Dogs logged some serious travel miles to participate, with some competitors coming in from Canada, Brazil and other faraway countries to join in on the fun. The competition also included raffle prizes and a “Yappy Hour” benefit to raise funds for various charity partners.
“This is such a high-energy, entertaining weekend for pets, pet parents and surf fans alike,” event organizer Lisa Scolman said in a press release.
Until 2015, surfing pups!
