Tom Hanks' mother, Janet Marylyn Frager, has died.
The "Sully" star revealed the news himself with a sweet tribute on Twitter.
"This beauty? My mom. She was the difference in many lives. Many lives," Hanks wrote next to a stunning photo of his mother as a young woman. "We say goodbye to her today. Safe crossing, mom! Hanx."
The actor's wife, Rita Wilson, shared her own sentiments on Instagram.

"This wonderful lady gave birth to my husband, and three other children," wrote the actress.
"Thank you for bringing my love into the world," Wilson continued. "She is at peace now."
Hanks's mother's passing comes just days after the actor celebrated his 60th birthday.
Janet Marylyn Frager was 84.
