For these two little ones, it was just another school day — and just another nap.
Presbyterian Day School in Clarksdale, Mississippi, posted this touching photo on Facebook Tuesday, mainly to share the sweet moment with the 715 followers of their page. But quickly after it went up, the image took off on social media — receiving more than 3,000 likes in just two days.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7," the school captioned the heartwarming picture.

Olivia Ellis, a teacher at the school, told TODAY.com over the phone that the little girls, Lucy Harris Jackson and Samiyah Moore — both 6 years old — are in her senior kindergarten class. (Ellis received permission from the girls' parents to share their names and the image.) She said the two "met and then became best friends" almost immediately.
“I was walking around the classroom waking each child up after nap time," Ellis explained. "I flipped on the light and found them with their hands clenched, sound asleep — holding each other. It was really sweet. I knew I had to stop and get my camera.”

Ellis is amazed at the attention the photo is receiving online and hopes it serves as a "positive influence" for others.
Indeed, the post received a number of positive comments. "So precious," wrote one commenter. "It is sad that we adults outgrow our childlike hearts."
"The innocence of children is beautiful," wrote another.
"We may be adults but, we're never too old to learn," wrote another individual.
"We try to teach them to love one another," Ellis said. "We’re all the same... We’re all one. Our skin color doesn't matter, and we're trying to break that barrier."
