You know what they say — if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

So that's exactly what one mom from Fort Worth, Texas, did on Thursday when she was dropping off her son at school and noticed an unusually crowded parking lot. Now, her response to what she did is making headlines.

In a Facebook post, Yevette Vasquez explained that as she and her son Elijah were going about their usual morning routine, she asked him about the high traffic of cars. When he told her his school was hosting a 'Donuts with Dad' event, Vasquez quickly kicked gears into Supermom-mode.

"... We quickly went back home 'cause I wasn't about to let him miss out," she wrote.

Upon their return, Vasquez showed up in a hilarious "disguise," complete with a baseball cap, a plaid button-down shirt, baggy pants, and even a fake mustache to top off her dad ensemble.

"I know seeing other dads with their kids isn't easy for mine but it's life, at least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face."

Immediately, Facebook users took to Vasquez's post (which has garnered over 3,000 shares since Thursday), to share their appreciation for her idea, with many commending her for being an "amazing" mother and pointing out Elijah's smile beaming with pride for his mom.

"I don't know you, but what I do know is your son's face tells it all!" one commenter wrote. "He loves you and this was a great thing you did! He might not have it all but he has everything in you. You're amazing."

"When he has a family of his own I have no doubt in my mind he will remember this moment and strive to be the best dad he can be," another commenter wrote.

Other Facebook users agreed that Vasquez's determination "goes to show that single moms play both roles."

"Sometimes I think and wonder how moms do it. Think about what he will be able to share with his kids later and what seed has been planted as he grows up and becomes a man. You are an amazing mom," wrote another.
