It's inevitable. When kids come along, things change. Sometimes that means a tidy house becomes a little messy. Sometimes it means eight hours of sleep is a thing of the past.
And it almost always means that carefree, child-free, date-filled weekends are a rarity.
But not for these parents.
Australian model and TV host Rachael Finch and husband Michael "Mish" Miziner are mom and dad to a beautiful 2-year-old daughter, who they say "so long" to every single weekend.

“Every weekend [Violet] goes to Mish’s mum’s house, and we get our weekend to ourselves," Finch recently told Sunday Style magazine. "I think that’s incredibly healthy for the relationship. And on Sunday, when we pick her up, we have 100-percent energy back.”
But the reaction the couple has received to that big reveal hasn't been 100-percent positive.

While some fans of the famous duo — who met while paired together on Australia's "Dancing With the Stars" — support their choice to have child-free weekends, many more dubbed them "selfish."
"You can't expect to say something like that and not expect people to be outraged," one user wrote in response to Finch on Instagram. "Kids aren't a part-time deal and should be put first no matter what. What about when they reach school age? Will she never see her children? This sets a really bad example and comes off nothing else but selfish."
Another added to that popular opinion, writing, "I'm all for having a break every now and then but to get rid of your only child from Friday to Sunday every week? That's just ridiculous and selfish."
But Finch doesn't agree. She's defending their lifestyle on Instagram, and she's pointing out the big perk it packs for their daughter — a close relationship with grandma.
"I value dearly the relationship Violet has with her Grandmother and I believe this is one of the most important and influential relationships growing up," she wrote.
