Is Valentine's Day turning into a holiday for kids?
Maybe, according to TODAY.com readers. An online survey of more than 1,500 people found that more plan to give gifts to their kids than to their spouses on Feb. 14.
Some 85 percent of parents told us they give a present to their children, compared to 59 percent who buy something special for their partner.

The average American will spend almost $147 on flowers, candy and other gifts this Feb. 14, but most of that will go towards a present for their significant other, according to the National Retail Federation. Nine out of 10 people say they will buy something special for their spouse.
Some more results from the TODAY survey show about half of kids give their parents a Valentine’s Day gift, with most of them sharing something made at home or in school. More than three-quarters of kids exchange cards with everyone in their class.

When it came to naming the best gift for a mom or dad, free babysitting was tops, with almost a third of respondents choosing that option, followed by a nap, chocolate and flowers.
And most of you — 95 percent — say “I love you” to your kids every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.
