Boomer Phelps just took one tiny step toward following in his father's footsteps — or maybe it's more of a tiny splash toward swimming in his lane.
Gold-medal great and proud papa Michael Phelps hopped in the pool with his 2-month-old son Wednesday, and he and fiancee Nicole Johnson shared the sweet photos online.
"The little man loved the water today!!" dad wrote in a caption on Instagram. "(Boomer) and I got some extra laps in today!!"

While the older Phelps got a few more laps in, Boomer found a shady spot in the pool — right on mom's tummy.

All in all, it was a great day for the little guy — at least that's what he (or whichever parent is posting to Instagram on his behalf) said.
"I loved going in the pool today with @nicole.m.johnson (mommy) and @m_phelps00 (daddy)," one post read. "Can't wait til I get to learn to swim from daddy and @coach_bowman !"
And we're sure Coach Bob Bowman, who's worked with Phelps since the Olympic swimmer was just 11 years old, can't wait either.
