After releasing a long list of hit records and headlining just as many world tours, Kelly Clarkson thought she knew what it meant to be busy — and then she became a mom.

During a Tuesday morning visit to TODAY, the "Piece by Piece" hit maker confessed that the arrival of daughter River Rose in 2014 — and now the addition of her 6-month-old son, Remy — completely changed her perspective on that.

"The amount of things I accomplish in a day, I'm just going to say it's astonishing," she laughed. "Like as a mom, I go to bed going, 'You're welcome, world!'"

And she feels that she and other moms certainly deserve that implied thanks.

"We do everything," she added. "I feel like moms — we're just amazing humans. I literally tell my mom all the time, 'I'm so sorry,' because I didn't respect that enough. ... And then your mom goes, 'Hahaha!' when your 2-year-old is coloring on your wall. Karma."

But while motherhood has brought a lot of added responsibilities, it's also brought a surprising new opportunity for the singer — who can know call herself an author, too.

Inspired by her little girl, Clarkson released her first children's book Tuesday, "River Rose and the Magical Lullaby." It even comes with a lullaby.

And it's only a matter of time before Remy gets his story, too.

"I'm working on it," Clarkson assured.

But don't expect any more bundles of joy to come along with namesake books of their own. With two kids — and two stepchildren with husband Brandon Blackstock — Clarkson said she put her baby days behind her with the birth of her son.

"I literally told them on the table, 'You make sure this can't happen again!'"
