Addressing more than 1 million Twitter followers Wednesday night, "Duck Dynasty" star Jep Robertson shared his feelings and an adorable photo of baby Jules, whom he and Jessica recently adopted.

"Thanks for the love!" tweeted Jep, relaxing beside the newest family member, nicknamed Gus. "This has been a crazy, awesome ride but so worth it! Me and Gus signing out!"

The tweet was posted just hours after the series premiere of A&E's spinoff "Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty," which chronicles the couple's adoption process.

In a promotional video for the series, Jessica recalled a previous adoption attempt. "We got really close and thought we were going to bring a baby home, and got so excited," she said, "and then it fell through, which is just heartbreaking."

The news would improve, however, as they learned baby Jules would be on the way.

"Knowing that we can make a difference and take a child in that maybe would never have a mommy or daddy, you're changing a child's life forever, and he's going to change our life forever," Jessica added.

Before the new arrival, Jep had a chat with River, the youngest of his four biological children and only biological son. "River, I think you're going to be a lot better big brother than what I had, because my big brothers were mean and tortured me," Jep said to River. "Are you going to torture your baby brother?"

Replied River, "No, but my sister does torture me."

His dad said he could relate. "Now you know how I feel, buddy."

Jep and Jessica aren't the first "Duck Dynasty" couple to adopt. Earlier this year, Willie and Korie Robertson shared news of their own adoption story.
