It took a whole lot longer than a speeding bullet, but girls finally have a superhero line of undies to call their own.

Fruit of the Loom is now selling a seven-pack of girls' DC Comics briefs for $11.99, featuring Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman. Not exactly gender neutral (hey, girls can like Superman, too! Just like boys can also like cats), but we'll take it.

"Boys aren't the only ones that want to be Superheroes!" Fruit of the Loom notes on its website. "Your little girl can run faster and jump higher in her new DC Comics briefs. She can imagine herself as one of the most powerful of all the girl Superheroes …. These briefs are tag free and super soft for all day comfort."

Thank goodness. We wouldn't want Wonder Woman scratching at a tag. The news is bound to be well-received by Tom Burns, who sent out a plea for superhero girls underwear recently on the blog Good Men Project. He bought boys' underwear for his superhero- and Star Wars-loving daughter, and made a plea to the powers-that-be to come up with versions made just for girls.

Burns writes that Fruit of the Loom answered, sending him the statement: "Here at Fruit of the Loom we have heard this complaint, listened and communicated the demand to retailers. As of January 2013, Fruit of the Loom has added DC Comics licensed underwear to our girls' product line! We now offer Wonder Woman, Bat Girl and Super Girl underwear for girls."

So, will they sell? We would totally buy our girls these undies, if only to let them know they can be princesses on some days and powerful crime fighters on others. Or, on really cold days, both at the same time. To that, we say BAM!
