Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of HGTV's hit remodeling show "Fixer Upper," have a busy life with their four children — but is it about to get busier? The couple, featured in a Parade magazine cover story this weekend, gave an interview in which Joanna hinted at making their household of six into one of seven.

"I'm trying to talk him into another child," Joanna said, as her husband looked on, laughing. "But he's not interested."

Maybe, maybe not? "Num-ber-five! Num-ber-five!" Chip chanted in the background as his wife spoke.

Currently, the Gaineses have four children. Their two girls are named Ella, 9 and Emme,6, and their two boys are Duke, 8 and Drake, 11.

The couple tells the story of how they launched their home-reno empire in a new joint memoir, "The Magnolia Story." You can read an excerpt here on TODAY.

Having a big family together didn't seem likely where the excerpt picks up — Chip is supposed to be arriving for the couple's first date, and he's more than an hour late.

"Chip was an hour and a half late to everything," Joanna says in the excerpt. "If I’d known that then, maybe I wouldn’t have taken it personally."

And as for the four-possibly-five children? TODAY anchor Matt Lauer joked to the Gaineses in an interview that they're already there. "I'm going to go with five children," Lauer said to Joanna. "Because you also have to deal with Chip, who can be a little bit of a handful."
