Even David Beckham embarrasses his kids

Looks like even the king of cool embarrasses his kids once in a while. Soccer star David Beckham admitted that his three boys were less than thrilled to see his new commercial that aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

The ad features the heavily tattooed Beckham showing off his well toned body, as much as his new underwear line for H&M.

“Yesterday when we were watching the Super Bowl, the commercial came on and I didn’t know where to look,” he told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview on Monday. “It was kind of embarrassing. The kids loved it, but they were embarrassed as well because there were other people in the room.”

Yep, we can see how watching your nearly-nude dad prancing around in his underwear on national TV might be a tad mortifying.

Over the weekend, Becks, as he’s affectionately known at home in Britain, also confessed that he was recently thrown off the sidelines of a children’s soccer match for arguing with the referee after a penalty was given to a kid from another team.

“I was like, ‘Come on referee, he’s 7-years old, you can’t send him off.’ He looked and me and was like ‘Yes, I can,’” he said on the U.K.’s Jonathan Ross Show.

Beckham kept arguing and the ref gave him a red card, telling him "to get out of the park. For real."

While the Beckham boys seem to take after their dad with their love of soccer, after nearly five years in the U.S., they no longer have the English accent of their parents.

“I was reading a story to one of the boys the other day and he goes, ‘Daddy, you’re so English.’”

So it seems that even famous soccer players, admired the world over, are as uncool to their kids as the rest of us. We can hear them now – American accents and all: “Dad, you are so embarrassing!”
