Ethan Hawke has a simple solution for when his kids won't go to sleep: He sings them traditional lullabies — and pretends he's Bob Dylan.

When the actor revealed his unusual trick on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday, fellow father Jimmy Fallon joked, "I’ve heard about this. There’s scientific research that points that this is proven."

Naturally, Hawke brought his guitar to demonstrate, and the duo hilariously mimicked Dylan's craggy vocals as they performed “Rockabye Baby,” “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “Hush, Little Baby.”

Though Hawke critiqued Fallon's rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle" as "too upbeat," we bet the talk-show host's two young daughters, Winnie, 20 months, and Frances, 4 months, will appreciate it.

In addition to being a devoted dad, Fallon is also a generous son-in-law. During last night's show, he surprised aviation executive and former U.S. Marine aviator William H. Juvonen, the father of his wife Nancy, with a special watch.
