TODAY anchors Savannah Guthrie and Natalie Morales were seeing red this morning as a big celebrity joined them on the show. Furry, lovable Elmo brought his Sesame Street savvy and answered questions from TODAY Moms Facebook readers.
After a flirtatious introduction that included being nuzzled by Natalie and tickled by Savannah, Elmo got down to business.
In response to Stephanie Walter's question of "Why is Elmo red?", Elmo channeled his inner Lady Gaga and answered:
"Elmo was born this way. It's au natural."
A question from Donna of Fairfield, Calif., was "What are you getting your dad for Father's Day?"
"Elmo made him a tie. But don't tell him -- it's a surprise!"
The anchors tried to stump Elmo with their final question -- "Who is your favorite TODAY show anchor?"
"These two ladies right here," he answered, as he was smothered with smooches and snuggles from Natalie and Savannah.
Proof that Elmo's no dummy.
