It’s a tricky business trying to figure out how to walk the line between helping your kid and letting them figure out their own problems. But one mom has gone right over the edge in her attempts to help her socially awkward son before he goes off to college.

In a Craigslist ad (via The Daily Dot) we think could totally be a prank, a Philadelphia mom seeks a “sugar baby” to date her cute-but-shy 18-year-old son this summer and “turn him from a high school nerd to cool college kid” before he enters Harvard in the fall. It’s like Can’t Buy Me Love, only real. Also, the mom is kind of a pimp.

Her diabolical plan is to buy four concerts tickets, giving two to her son, and two to the hired hottie, who will pick him up, get him to ditch his bud and then deflower him. “Keep dating him (and showing him different sex positions) [OMG, EW!] til he goes to college and then let him go gently so he’ll have the confidence to date other girls once he’s there,” the ad reads. In return, she’ll “make your financial issues disappear.”

Equally disturbing to the fact that Mama Bear is paying for sex for her son (which is a crime, no?) are the implications behind it. What’s wrong with being a nerd—or a virgin—anyway? Lots of kids going to college are inexperienced and still trying to figure out who they are, and that’s okay. The fact that she's so desperate to have a cool, good-with-the-ladies son rather than appreciating the fact that she has a kid who’s awesome enough to get into HARVARD is disturbing.

What do you think: is this real?
