After 11 years together and two years married, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have called it quits. But while the former Hollywood power couple have yet to speak out about the reason for the breakup, they've had plenty to say about their love for each other — and their six children — over the years.

Though the sentiments might seem bittersweet now, these comments captured the best of Brangelina.

On the significance of their 2014 wedding:

"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter," Jolie and Pitt told People magazine shortly after their nuptials. "It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."

On how marriage altered their already long relationship:

"It did change," the actress told Tom Brokaw on TODAY. "We were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation, we got married with our children and they were part of the ceremony. It was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together. Not because we had to ... because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family."

On how married life made her want to be a better partner:

"We have more moments where I say, 'I'm going to be a better wife,'" she revealed in the same interview. "'I'm going to learn to cook.' and (Brad) says, 'Oh, honey, know what you're good at.' ... But I do like, 'No, no, no, I'm going to get this wife thing down.' He knows my limitations and where I'm a good wife and a good mom."

On her decision to have surgeries upon learning of her cancer risk:

"There was no vanity to my wife's approach,'' Pitt told TODAY last year. "It was mature. 'This is our life and we're gonna make the best of it.' There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter, and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together."

On how their children have no desire to follow in their career footsteps:

"None of my kids want to be actors," Jolie revealed in an interview with "Woman's Hour." "They are actually very interested in being musicians. I think they like the process of film from the outside. Mad is interested in editing. Pax loves music and deejaying."

On what's really important:

“I want to really focus on my children, doing the best I can to guide and protect them before they are out of the house," Jolie told Vogue in 2015. "These are their most important years.”
