"Helloooo there! Again!" as Robin Williams' Mrs. Doubtfire might say. The Hollywood Reporter announced on Wednesday that a sequel to the 1993 comedy is a go, with the actor and original director Christopher Columbus attached, along with "Elf" writer David Berenbaum.

The original film, about a newly divorced and out-of-work dad who dressed up as a Scottish nanny to trick his ex and spend time with his kids, earned more than $400 million worldwide and won two Golden Globes (including one for Williams) and an Oscar for makeup.

In a TODAY interview at the time, Robin Williams told Gene Shalit that creating his character had a lot to do with the makeup he wore. The actor noted that they went from a Margaret Hamilton (of "The Wizard of Oz") nose to a Margaret Thatcher chin, and facial prosthetics and clothing that seemed to remind him of Julia Child.

One person who's not excited about a "Mrs. Doubtfire" sequel is Mara Wilson, who played little Natalie in the film.

According to THR, a sequel has been planned since 2001, but after several scripts died in development after failing to attract Williams and/or Columbus, it faded away. But in early 2014, Berenbaum got involved and that was good enough to get both star and director to sign on. Studio Fox 2000 is behind the project.

Berenbaum has also written other family comedies, including 2003's "Haunted Mansion" and 2008's "The Spiderwick Chronicles."

There is no release date yet for the "Mrs. Doubtfire" sequel.

While talking about the upcoming movie in the Orange Room on TODAY Thursday, Tamron Hall made a surprising confession: She'd never seen the movie.

"Go watch it now!" shouted Carson Daly, leading Hall to dash off the set.
