Actors Jesse Spencer and Taylor Kinney joined TODAY on Tuesday to chat about the new season of "Chicago Fire," and they also made time to grab a drink in the Orange Room. Here's what we learned about the faux firefighters during their stay:
Jesse Spencer wanted to be a Park Ranger when he was a kid: "I wanted to have a wilderness area that I could look after and be the master of. I just wanted to be kind of like Gandalf."
Taylor Kinney likes to watch people fall: "I'm a YouTube guy, so when I can't sleep, I just go there and type in 'idiots' or 'people falling down' or 'fail compilations' and it just makes me laugh and then I can go to sleep. I like silly, stupid, really quick videos of mishaps."
"The Goonies" recently inspired Jesse Spencer to learn about currency: "I didn't know what a Doubloon was. I had to look it up on Wikipedia. We were talking about pirate treasure in 'The Goonies,' and someone brought up a doubloon, and I had actually never heard of that."
Taylor Kinney stole a book in the name of motorcycles: "I remember I was always enamored by and loved motorcycles as a kid. My grandfather had motorcycles and I remember going for a ride and then after that I was hooked. And then in first or second grade, I ganked (stole) a book from the library just because it had a dirt bike with trails. It was one of those things where as a kid, the world is your oyster as far as what you can do, and you don't associate jobs and things with making money."
