It was a case of daytime in the nighttime on Monday as TODAY's Carson Daly guested on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford sat down with Seth Meyers on "Late Night." Naturally, there was a lot of drinking going on.
Daly and Fallon had some real dad talk to share, chatting about being fathers, their minivans and their moms being pals.
But Daly did have one big announcement: He and fiancée Siri are expecting their third child. Tuesday on TODAY, the gang congratulated Daly, and Savannah Guthrie noted that she and Siri would be giving birth "about a week apart," which should make for some fun baby photos.
"I can't wait until we all go to Lamaze classes together," chuckled Guthrie.
"Wait, what?" asked Daly.
But back to late night: Daly, who hosts "The Voice," revealed that he's something of a bartender for the show's coaches on those long days of taping. His specialty? Bloody Marys, two of which he had helpfully prepared ahead of time.
The alcohol continued to flow in the form of wine as TODAY's fourth-hour mavens, Gifford and Kotb, laughed it up with Meyers on "Late Night."
The talk turned to the vodka shots done during the Sochi Olympics, and how the pair bonded. "Ultimately, you're saying is by drinking you got close," said Meyers.
"I went to Oral Roberts University where you didn't drink at all!" said Gifford. "How did I get through it?"
Alcohol got another shout out later in the interview, when Meyers flashed back to an old "Saturday Night Live" bit he did about the ladies needing an intervention, then brought on stage three of the ladies' "associates" who shared their scary stories about having to face the presumably drunken women on TODAY.
