On Tuesday night, sophomore guard Jack Taylor of Grinnell College set an NCAA record by scoring 138 points in one game. The 179-104 win over Faith Baptist Bible College obliterated the previous record, when Bevo Francis of Rio Grande scored 113 points in 1954.

Since his remarkable performance, Taylor has received reaction from NBA stars like Durant, the Oklahoma City Thunder's scoring champ, who tweeted, "Jack Taylor you deserve a shot of Jack Daniels after that performance lol...wow.''

"That was pretty surreal,'' Taylor said via Skype on TODAY Wednesday. "I actually had to create a Twitter. I didn't have a twitter before. I had to jump on the bandwagon."

Previously, the most points he had ever scored in a game was 48, in high school.

"There was a point in the second half where I hit seven or eight threes in a row, and I knew something special was going on and I was probably pretty close to the record,'' he said.
