Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips, and her husband are expecting their first child in the new year, Buckingham Palace said Monday.
The news for the Olympic silver-medal equestrian comes as the world awaits the arrival of another royal baby, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Phillips married rugby player Mike Tindall in July 2011. The couple “and members of both families are delighted with the news," the palace said in a statement. She is 14th in line to the throne.
Phllips is the daughter of Princess Anne, who is known as Princess Royal, who currently has two grandchildren.
