Big, nasty spiders? Slithery, venomous snakes? Yes, creepy, crawly critters have been known to frighten more than a few people, but what about the not-so-obvious creatures?

Like a puppy. Yes, a cute little pit bull puppy!

On Animal Planet's new show "My Extreme Animal Phobia," psychologist Robin Zasio tries to help a man named Marvin overcome his extreme fear of dogs. To accomplish that, she takes the tough-looking guy to a dog park for a face-to-face with the little pooch, but things don't go so well.

"This pit bull puppy comes around a corner, my heart almost jumped out of my body," Marvin confesses to the camera.

But that wasn't all. After running away from the dog, and then later letting it come closer, Marvin eventually breaks down and starts weeping. "I'm a coward," he cries. "I close my eyes, and I go back in time to where I was when I was 5 years old."

To learn what happened to Marvin to cause his fear, check out the show's premiere on Friday at 10 p.m. on Animal Planet.

Do you think Dr. Zasio's method will help Marvin? Will you watch the show? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page!
