Overland Park police confirmed Wednesday night that missing college student Aisha Khan, 19, has been found safe.
Officer Brian Schnavel said that Khan was not abducted or held against her will and no criminal act occurred.
On Wednesday evening, Overland Park police said they made contact with Khan by phone and determined that she was not in danger.
Khan's family spoke later Wednesday night.
"The family is very, very grateful to all the people involved. Firstly, to all the volunteers who have been out there reaching out to everyone -- all her friends, all the extended family who have taken the effort to... get out there. We really want to thank all the law enforcement agencies, especially a big thank you and a big shout out to the people who have been working hours and hours at the Overland Park Police Department. Thank you guys," said Khan family spokesman Aamer Trambu.
Overland Park police said they have concluded their investigation.
