They're baaack! After making their American television debut on TODAY in March of 2012, and visiting again in November of the same year, One Direction returned to the plaza Friday morning to deliver a concert for over 18,000 eager fans.

But that's not the only thing they did. Between song sets, which featured their hits "What Makes You Beautiful," "Kiss You" and their newest track, "Best Song Ever," Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik also gave details on their upcoming movie and Zayn's recently revealed engagement.

"We wanted to really give (fans) behind-the-scenes access," Niall said of the band's decision to let even more cameras into their lives for the film "One Direction: This is Us."

"It's also about our families as well, the way they deal with us being away from home," Liam explained.

What fans won't see on the big screen is any footage of 1D's appearances on the TODAY. As anchor Matt Lauer mentioned during the interview with the band, all of that ended up on the cutting room floor.

"We didn't have anything to do with that!" Liam said with a laugh. "We asked for it."

Maybe, maybe not — but no hard feelings.

As for Zayn's happy news, while he didn't say much about his engagement to Little Mix's Perrie Edward, he did say that they're "really happy."

That's when Niall tried to steal Zayn's spotlight with a little announcement of his own, but we have serious doubts about his "I'm pregnant" news.

"That's exclusive to TODAY show," Niall added.

"One Direction: This is Us" hits theaters nationwide Aug. 30.
