Cool scoop for coneheads: Ben & Jerry’s has unveiled two new ice cream flavors inspired by “Saturday Night Live” in celebration of the show’s upcoming 40th-anniversary season.
The first flavor is Lazy Sunday, named for the viral digital short in which Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell scarf cupcakes and spit rhymes. Fittingly, the frozen treat has a base flavor reminiscent of vanilla cake batter and is spiked with cupcake pieces and chocolate frosting. Fans are gonna love it like McAdams loves Gosling.
Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch, a “mischievous” combo of chocolate ice cream, sweet-cream ice cream, caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds and marshmallow, is meant to evoke Kristen Wiig’s violently naughty schoolgirl character. As Gilly herself might say, “It’s on.”
Both flavors will be available starting Thursday at Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops, with two additional “SNL” flavors in the works for later this year.
Hey, Ben & Jerry’s, mind if we make a few flavor suggestions?
- Living on Van-illa Down by the RIVER
- Hans and Franz’s German Chocolate Freeze
- Cawfee Tawk
- Roseanne Roseannadanna Banana Blast
- Wayne's Swirled
Or, y’know, we’d be happy just to taste-test them, too.
