Matt Lauer issued the "ice bucket challenge," and Martha Stewart didn't back down.

A day after Matt accepted the challenge from golfer Greg Norman, Stewart took the bait on Wednesday.

Challengees dump a bucket of ice water on their heads, then call on three friends to do the same. If your friends don't do it, they must donate to charity.

After Savannah gleefully emptied a bucket on Matt's head on Tuesday, Matt called out Stewart, Brian Williams and Howard Stern. Stewart passed the challenge on to three more big names — Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ellen DeGeneres.

Even though he took the challenge, Matt donated to the Hospice of Palm Beach County. Williams and Stern may have to do the same: The "Nightly News" anchor has not responded yet and Stern looks like a longshot. "If someone poured ice on me, I would behead them," Stern said Tuesday.

The ice bucket craze first picked up steam in June when pro golfer Rickie Fowler did it, then challenged fellow golfer Keegan Bradley.
