Man who injured himself on plaza remains hospitalized

Pak’s daughter said her father has a history of similar stress-induced outbursts, Natalie Morales reported on TODAY Friday.

NBC released a statement after the incident describing “strict security protocols” in place to protect TODAY Show visitors.

“Those procedures were followed and effective,” the statement said.
