The time-traveling spectacle that is "Mad Men" takes flight for its seventh and final season on April 13. In three new images released by AMC, stars of the show pose in an airport setting to remind us that once upon a time, air travel was a more glamorous pursuit.

Series creator Matthew Weiner said just that to Vanity Fair, and advised fans not to read into the photos' airport setting — the photos are not from actual scenes of the upcoming season.

"We picked the airport because we felt it was something we hadn’t done, Weiner said. "Obviously it’s an opportunity for a slight bit of irony because there is zero glamour in an airport now. So that was a little bit of time travel. But really, as disappointing as it is, there’s not much story to tell there."

It is fun to see the show's late-'60s aesthetic realized at the curb of an airport's load and unload zone. Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and Megan Draper (Jessica Pare) are dressed to impress as usual as a cartload of luggage is wheeled into the TWA terminal.

Inside the airport, Don is seated in the boarding area with Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss). He's got a New York Times on his lap and a large ashtray by his side. Peggy holds a notepad (of course) on her lap, and a stylish flight attendant lingers to Don's left (of course).

In the final photo, Don and Roger Sterling (John Slattery) are seated aboard an airplane in what is likely first class. A fight attendant delivers drinks and Roger holds a cigarette. Hopefully he doesn't ash on his fancy pants.

And hopefully time will fly, because we can't wait to learn more about where the show and its characters are headed.

"Mad Men" returns to AMC on Sunday, April 13, at 10 p.m. ET.
