Kristen Stewart brags about punching Chris Hemsworth

The mystery injury that “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart sustained while working on her upcoming film, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” has finally been explained — sort of. As it turns out, she suffered a dwarf-related wound.

During a Thursday night interview on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” Stewart explained that her rebooted Snow White has eight dwarf pals rather than the usual seven, and one of them caused her pain.

“(The dwarves are) so different,” she said. “They’re pesky little creatures. I broke my thumb on one of them. Actually, I didn’t break it. It was a really bad ligament tear.”

But that wasn’t the only time Stewart risked the well-being of her right hand while working on the film. In fact, during one scene, she risked both her hand and co-star Chris Hemsworth’s face when, despite direction to the contrary, Stewart punched the actor.

“It made such a sound!” she explained, throwing a punch in the air. “Girls, if you’ve ever wondered if it works — it works! I mean, it literally spun him right around. It was crazy.”

With some excitement, Stewart said, “I was supposed to miss him by this much. I basically knocked him right out of his close-up.” But then she tried to sound a little less thrilled by adding, “I mean, I’m not proud, though. Instantly tears sprung to my eyes. I’m like, ‘Are you OK?’”

Leno didn’t buy the sudden and brief mention of concern.

“Not proud?! You were just bragging!”

Do you plan to see the punch for yourself when “Snow White and the Huntsman” is released next year? What about Stewart’s presumably punch-free role in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” which hits theaters Nov. 18? Tell us on our Facebook page.
