Mark Sanford's unexpected victory in South Carolina prompted Kathie Lee and Hoda to wonder — would he have weathered political scandal if his name was "Michelle?"
Okay, well, it was more about whether or not he'd still have gotten re-elected if he'd had a very public extramarital affair as a FEMALE governor. They also wondered if Anthony Weiner would have survived tweeting "pictures of her junk" (Hoda's words) if he had been Antonia Weiner. And what about Chris Christie? Would he have been elected as a larger person if he'd been a woman named Christina?
"I think we've come a long way in our country on a lot of issues but we still have a long way to go, and there are so many, many, many double standards," said KLG.
"I think we we'll be overcoming those for a long time," sighed Hoda.
Until then, at least we'll be able to amuse ourselves by imagining Anthony Weiner as a lady.
