Kenny Loggins gives birthday gal Hoda Kotb a tip before 'Footloose' performance
Monday was a big day for Hoda Kotb: She kicked off her 50th birthday celebration on TODAY — even though her actual big day is Saturday. But Tuesday promises to pack one heck of a belated treat for her. That's when Hoda, with more than a little help from Kenny Loggins and Kathie Lee Gifford, gets to cross "be a backup singer" off her bucket list.

Originally, Loggins planned to stop by TODAY Monday during the rest of the festivities to sing one of his classic hits, the title track from "Footloose," with Hoda and Kathie Lee backing him up. Alas, a no-show flight bought Hoda an extra day to practice.
Loggins called in to TODAY and gave Hoda his best advice for their upcoming performance.
"Well, I would say my primary tip is listen to Kathie Lee," he insisted.
She plans to do just that. See Kathie Lee teach Hoda what to do and watch them both belt out backing vocals Tuesday on TODAY.
