Where will Kathie Lee and Hoda be in five years? While we don't have a crystal ball (unfortunately), we do have some pretty good sources to predict the future: the ladies themselves.

Groaning at having to think that far ahead, Hoda said she'd like to be "alive," for starters. "I’m sure I’m going to be on some weird diet, of course," she told TODAY.com with a laugh. "I’m sure so many of the things I said I was going to do last year I’ll still be talking about doing five years from now."

But on a more thoughtful note, Hoda said she's not too worried about what lies ahead, since so far, she's enjoyed every chapter, thanks to the people in her life.

"I hope that wherever it is, I’m joyful," she said. "I feel like I’ve always had a pretty good life because I seem to be able to find really great people. Because that’s what it’s about — a building’s a building, a job’s a job, but if you can surround yourself with people who make you feel great or feel better, you’ve got a great life."

One of those people, of course, is the lady she sits next to every morning. "I just hope I’m happy and I have a feeling that Kathie Lee and I will still be close," Hoda predicted.

KLG confirmed the two ladies will be friends for life, whether or not they're still messing around on TODAY in the mornings.

"I have no idea how long I’ll stay with Hoda," she said. "Working together is very different than being friends together. Regis and I are still dear, dear friends. I know that Hoda and I will [remain dear friends], whether our show stops or not."

Of what the future holds for her, KLG was candid. "I really don’t know," she said, noting that she'd like to see some of the film and television projects she's been working on come to fruition. "I’ve had a lot of things in the pipeline and I’m a very patient woman — I seem to be impatient, but if I believe in something, I will not give up."

In addition to her own entertainment efforts, KLG says what's really important to her is watching her children succeed. "I’d like to be attending movie premieres with my daughter, who’s a really, really fine actress," she said. "I’d like to be going to movies — just as a regular mom sitting in an audience — that my son wrote because he’s a screenwriter.

"More and more as I phase into a new decade of my life, and the last stage of my life, really, I want it to be about their dreams, even more than my own," she said. "They’re my two dreams come true."
