Jimmy Fallon talks 'Guys with Kids' and winning an Emmy: 'I freaked out'

Jimmy Fallon had a vision: "I had this idea; I said there should be a show called 'Guys with Kids,' and the opening shot should be them watching a game at a bar and when the Knicks score they all turn around and all have babies attached to them."Well, you'll have to wait until Wednesday night to learn whether that actual shot made the cut, but the rest of Fallon's vision appears to have come true.

Jimmy Fallon had a vision: "I had this idea; I said there should be a show called 'Guys with Kids,' and the opening shot should be them watching a game at a bar and when the Knicks score they all turn around and all have babies attached to them."

Well, you'll have to wait until Wednesday night to learn whether that actual shot made the cut, but the rest of Fallon's vision appears to have come true. "Guys with Kids" is now a real series on NBC, and features three men (played by Anthony Anderson, Jesse Bradford and Zach Cregger) who are definitely taking their daddy duties seriously. Fallon is a co-creator and executive producer on the series -- after all, he still has "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to do every evening.

Fallon and his stars sat down with TODAY's Savannah Guthrie Tuesday to discuss the series, and it was quickly revealed that Anderson is the lone real-life father in the bunch. The former "Law & Order" actor and comedian revealed that he loves to embarrass his kids, and demonstrated a cheer he'll do at their sport matches designed to do just that. Let's just say it involves crying out "Dynamite!" and a seriously wide hip wiggle.

"Dads, don't come to the game any more!" cried Fallon after witnessing the display.

But Fallon has one more thing worth cheering: He recently won his first solo Emmy for guest hosting "Saturday Night Live" -- and learned about it while actually watching "SNL." (His "Jimmy Fallon Digital Experience" has three other Emmys.) And it really came as a surprise.

"I just started getting phone calls and emails and I freaked out," he said. "I talked to Lorne (Michaels, 'SNL' creator) and everyone at 'Saturday Night Live,' they work so hard over there, and they deserve it. They're one of the best shows in the history of television."

Later, Fallon and the guys returned to visit with TODAY's Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford and lounged around with their Baby Bjorns ... which were full of beer, not babies.

"It's boozeday Tuesday," cried Fallon, "so we brought you a present."

"We know what you ladies like!" added Anderson (who later began drinking straight from a wine bottle). He noted that "not all" babies were hurt in the making of their new series. "They come in triplets, so when we break one we just get a fresh one in."

Maybe it was the wine talking.

"Guys with Kids" premieres Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
