When Aaron Samuels asked that fateful question back in the 2004 movie "Mean Girls," Cady Heron — played by Lindsay Lohan — memorably responded, "It's October 3rd."
It was the line that launched more memes and GIFs than Regina George got candygrams, and Oct. 3 —unofficially dubbed "Mean Girls Day" by the Internet — has become the day to celebrate. Even the Obama campaign got in on the game, using the line to promote the first presidential debate in 2012.
For the few people who haven't seen this film at some point over the last decade (it turned 10 this year), it's about a girl who is navigating the world of high school, from gossip to boys, parties and friends. The "October 3rd" exchange is just one of the many ways Cady tries to get closer to her crush, who sits in front of her in a class taught by Tina Fey — who also wrote the film.
