Fans are excited about the new "Hobbit" movies. Really, really excited. And when the new trailer for the second "Hobbit" film, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" came out Tuesday, a few fans decided to tape their reactions to seeing it for the first time.

Thus was born a 7-minute reaction video from the ladies of "The Happy Hobbit" webseries, two sisters who call themselves Kili and Fili after dwarves in the "Lord of the Rings." Their reaction video has just over 41,000 hits at the moment -- but one of those views was a bullseye, since "Hobbit" director Peter Jackson checked it out.

Jackson posted the clip to his Facebook page, noting "this is pretty cute," but he wasn't done. Later, he posted a reaction to the reaction, in which full-costumed, on-set "Hobbit" actors Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly and Lee Pace (who respectively play Legolas, Tauriel and Thranduil) -- watch the video and chuckle with delight. (Warning, mild swearing.)

"That is an elfin stare if ever I've seen one," notes Bloom; Lilly adds, "This might be more intense than the trailer."

Naturally, this doesn't end there. On Wednesday, the Happy Hobbiters were back -- with a video of them reacting to watching the video of the actors reactions (an intro has them referring to it as "Hobbit-ception," a reference to the dream-within-dream film "Inception"). (Mild swearing, all bleeped out.)

Could there be yet more reaction videos to come? Stay tuned; Jackson is, as everyone knows is a fan of sequels.
