This is a huge, huge deal! After Kathie Lee and Hoda kvetched about the TODAY kitchen's ineffectual toaster, some very sweet fans took action.
Making a bagel between commercial breaks used to be like "putting a blow drier on the bread" (copyright: Hoda Kotb), and usually took at least three repetitions to achieve toasting.
Recently, Sara tweeted about it:
To be fair to the appliance, the thing has probably made a million pieces of toast in its lifetime. Still, its run is up: They actually timed it this morning, and it took 13 MINUTES to toast a single slice and the butter still wasn't melty. This, clearly, was no way to live.
Thankfully, some thoughtful fans took pity on the ladies and sent in a brand new toaster! (KLG struggled with the box a little bit, but we assume it's in there.) Thanks so much to Jenny and John Perez from Fort Morgan, Colorado.
