During a week filled with terror and sadness, it's comforting to remember that there are many good people in this country, too ... and many good things happening because of them.
That's the sort of sentiment Bo Graf felt when he saw a young man helping an elderly woman make her way across the parking lot at Ingles Markets, a regional grocery chain, in Greenville, South Carolina.
In an emotional Facebook post accompanied by a snapshot of the event described above, Graf wrote on Monday, "This weekend left me with such doubt and sadness for Our America! Although I eat at Ingles regularly, for some reason I left a little later for lunch today!"

He continued: "God put me at this place, this moment in time for a reason. Maybe it's simply to capture this moment, maybe to change the way I look at the world today and the kids of tomorrow, or perhaps how I could change the way I live each day; there are so many reasons that put me in this brief moment."
Graf was so moved by what he saw that he decided to go and speak with the man pictured, Brandon Rollins, who turned out to be a store associate at Ingles. He reminded Rollins that one good deed has far-reaching consequences, and that it wasn't just the elderly woman that was helped that day.

"(I) told him what he did ... touched my life as well as I hope (it) touches all of your lives."
The next day, Ingles Markets posted a response to the event on their own Facebook page: a photo of Rollins with a cake made by his colleagues. "Ingles associate Brandon Rollins from our Cherrydale-Greenville SC Ingles store is thanked by co-workers for his example of kindness that made the news," the store wrote in the caption that accompanied the post.
"This is how America should be!" Graf's own post concluded. "And hopefully this is the America of tomorrow!!!"
