The twisted sisters are no more. Cristina Yang left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and bestie Meredith Grey to fulfill her potential in Switzerland on the "Grey's Anatomy" season finale Thursday, marking the end of Sandra Oh's 10 years on the ABC drama.
It was a bittersweet farewell, marked at times with the biting humor that only Oh's Cristina could deliver ("Take care of Alex. He needs to be mocked at least once a day, or he'll be insufferable!") and a heart-wrenching, wordless farewell with love Owen Hunt.
But it wouldn't be a proper goodbye for the superstar cardiothoracic surgeon without a special moment shared with Meredith.
"Don't be a hero. You're my person. I need you alive. You make me brave," Cristina said to her soul sister before advising her to avoid small planes, sticking her hands into a body cavity filled with a bomb and other adventures the two had shared in the past.
They then did something that has been a part of their friendship since the beginning — they danced it out.
But before she walked out, Cristina left her BFF with one final message, reminding Meredith that McDreamy "is not the sun. You are." (What a parting gift — the creation of marital drama for season 11!)
Fans and cast alike were teary-eyed by the long-time cast member's exit.
Oh herself had some parting words on Twitter for her co-stars and "Grey's" fans.
"Grey's Anatomy" returns for season 11 in the fall.
