George W. Bush celebrated a big birthday on Thursday, and he had the festive shirt to prove it.

The former president was a picture of relaxation in a Hawaiian shirt (and with the family dog) in a photo posted by his wife, former first lady Laura Bush, to celebrate his 71st birthday.

TODAY's Jenna Bush Hager also posted a sweet throwback photo of her pop holding her and twin sister, Barbara, whey they were sleepy little babies.

"Happy Birthday Popsicle,'' Jenna wrote. "Thanks for lifting me up since birth. (PS you were more interesting than this yawn!)"

Two days ago, the 43rd president celebrated the nation's birthday with a patriotic picture honoring vets and the armed forces.

Bush has been having fun in his post-presidency lately, photobombing TV reporters at Texas Rangers games, hanging with pal Michelle Obama, and getting teased by Ellen DeGeneres for his struggles with a rain poncho at President Trump's inauguration.

The presidential library for Bush's father, George H.W. Bush, got in on the birthday tributes by tweeting a throwback pic of young George as a baby in April 1947.

His own presidential library at Southern Methodist University also tweeted a picture of Bush as a toddler with his dad, who turned 93 in June.

Many of Bush's fellow Republicans, including his nephew, sent out birthday wishes to the 43rd president.
