Former Disney star Dylan Sprouse, who starred with his twin brother Cole in "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," is now working as a host as a New York restaurant -- but it doesn't mean he's out of money.
Sprouse responded on his Tumblr to photos that fans have taken of him on the job. "To clear up the air (which is admittedly pretty rude), I did not take this job because I 'lost all my money,'" Sprouse wrote. "I am financially secure, and took this job as a way to primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction."
He also noted that he liked the experience the new job gave him. "I also (see) this as a way to try a new experience, working somewhat below the means I’m used to, as well as a way to socialize and get out of the house," he wrote. "I feel most comfortable when I’m working and doing something, to criticize someone (for) that is pretty odd."
He may not be done with the Hollywood life, though. "I will potentially return to acting someday, but in no way do I think any experience is a step down for me, but rather a new step in another direction," he wrote.
Fans reacted positively to Sprouse's openness about his new line of work. "Kinda like working at the juice bar on (Disney Channel sitcom) 'Suite Life On Deck,'" wrote one reader.
Sprouse and his brother were reportedly the richest teenage twins in the world in 2010.
Sprouse isn't the only former star who moved into restaurant work. Former reality show star and dad of eight Jon Gosselin confirmed recently that he's waiting tables at a Pennsylvania restaurant.
"At first I was thinking, 'Oh, how are people going to react?' " Gosselin told "Entertainment Tonight" about his new position. "But then I'm thinking, it's fun, and I get to talk to people, and they, like, technically already know me."
