Hats off to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia!
Four years after Aretha Franklin's headpiece stole the Inauguration Day show, Scalia got Twitter users talking with the hashtag #ScaliaWeirdHat.
Leading the charge: Senator Claire McCaskill.
What's the story behind the headpiece?
It's a gift from the St. Thomas More Society of Richmond, Va, according to University of Richmond Law professor Kevin Walsh. he wrote it was given to Scalia as a memento for his participation in one of their events. "The hat is a custom-made replica of the hat depicted in Holbein’s famous portrait of St. Thomas More."
But that explanation didn't stop others from speculating more humorous answers.
Tell us in the comments: What did Scalia's hat remind you of?
