Although Duchess Kate was a royal fixture during the 2012 Olympics in London, she has yet to make a single appearance at this year’s Summer Games.

But it’s easy to see why some people in Rio are doing double takes.

French cyclist Pauline Ferrand-Prevote bears an uncanny resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge, despite a 10-year age difference.

The younger Ferrand-Prevote, 24, has lighter hair — she’s a blonde while the duchess's glossy brunette locks are renown — but the cyclist shares Kate’s dimples and her eyes crease the same way when she shows off a strikingly similar smile.

Ferrand-Prevote came in 26th place in the women’s road race final, but she doesn't have a lot to prove in the sport. She is the first person to simultaneously hold the World Road title, World Cyclo-Cross title and World Mountain Bike title.

This has been a good week for eagle-eyed Rio fans who have spotted Olympic athletes who look like celebrities.

Earlier this week, American Brady Ellison earned silver in the men's team archery event but he caught everyone else's attention for something else: his resemblance to Leonard DiCaprio

After the competition, Ellison quickly became a hit on social media.

Duchess Kate reportedly has no plans to visit Rio during the Olympics. But four years ago, she appeared everywhere at the London Games.

Those games marked an early glimpse the world got at the then-newlywed duchess and what a dedicated sports fan she is, one who's not above joining the crowd during a wave or two.
