"Creative genius, or barking mad?" That's how Kathie Lee Gifford introduced Gary Busey on TODAY Tuesday, as the latest-to-be-fired contestant on "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice." And based on the conversation she, he and Hoda Kotb had next, both may be true.

Busey is always an unpredictable guest, but things went smoothly at first -- he was disappointed by his firing from "Apprentice," noting that his teammates hung him out to dry. "They did mess with me when they abandoned me," he said. "And they wouldn't help me, they wouldn't give me advice, they wouldn't tell me what they really thought would be good, and I didn't know."

He added they banded together to get him off the show. "It was obvious."

He's a huge fan of "Apprentice" leader Donald Trump, calling him a "dear man" with "such strength and focus in his brilliance."

And then things took a different turn. Busey referred to a book he's putting together called "Buseyisms," which are his catch phrases that are actually acronyms of real words. The one that garnered the most chuckles? The words attached to FART. "Feeling And Rectal Transmission," he explained. "Once you know, once you have the definition of FART it's OK to fart on an elevator, and you can play 'name that smell.' I did it coming up here."

Busey will have to save his rare genius for future "Apprentice" seasons -- he says he'd be happy to come back to the show -- but for now, audiences can find "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" on Sundays at 9 p.m.
