"Kill Bill" star Michael Madsen, 54, was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment in Malibu, Calif., on Friday, TMZ reports.
The actor, who was reportedly under the influence when officers arrived at his home, was taken to a nearby Sheriff's station and held on $100,000 bond; he was released early Saturday morning.
"Everything's fine," Madsen told TMZ when he left. "Big misunderstanding."
Madsen's attorney further elaborated to TMZ : "[Michael] found his son smoking pot and they got in an argument when he tried to take it away. It's a family matter and Michael asks that his family's privacy be respected."
The actor has five sons, though it is not yet clear which child was involved in the incident. Madsen's other notable film roles include "Reservoir Dogs," "Free Willy" and "Donnie Brasco."
