From the time Cory McLeod showed up in an ultrasound photo to when he turned 21 recently, his dad Ian has been capturing photos of him — 71 photo albums' worth that dad lovingly turned into a movie. Since that video hit YouTube, it has garnered nearly 5 million views.

The video, called "21 Years," was posted in late September by the U.K. dad, and has been drawing lots of attention for the work that McLeod put into the 6 minute-and-20-second video, documenting his son's physical metamorphosis. The photos, taken with film, had to be scanned into a computer for the video.

In it, we see Cory go from being an adorable infant to a smiling and adventurous toddler, to a young boy playing various sports, to a young man, sometimes with more serious looks than smiles.

Other proud dads are sharing similar efforts (see Zachary and Harrison on YouTube), but none yet is so extensive. One photographer, Noah Kalina, recently posted a video showing his own body changes over a 12-year-period.

But this love letter, er video, from a dad, is a special treat. As is noted on YouTube, the video has a lot of flashing images, which could be headache- or seizure-inducing, so beware.

Still, as "squishable1000" commented on YouTube, "What an amazing 21st Birthday present!" You can watch if for yourself, below.
